Now residents in neighboring Levy County could experience a change in culture and boost to the local economy. Progress Energy has proposed building up to two nuclear power plants on a 3,000-acre parcel about eight miles north of the Crystal River energy complex. The plant would create some 500 full-time jobs and generate some 2,000 construction jobs, utility officials said.
